JOB SUMMARY

The People and Culture Partner provides strategic partnership to business leaders and their teams while also owning and leading a center of excellence for POET. This role directly partners with General Managers at our bioprocessing facilities and/or Executive Leaders and is adept in all areas that typically fall under Human Resources (team member relations, compliance, talent development, compensation, etc.). You will lead our compensation center of excellence and be responsible for guiding & developing fair and competitive pay programs and job structures to facilitate the attraction and retention of talent in all the markets POET conducts business.
DURING A TYPICAL DAY
Business/Leader Partnership
- Promote POET’s company culture and partner with leaders to identify, consult, and support implementing initiatives pertaining to people strategies.
- Develop meaningful cross-functional relationships with leaders and team members.
- Partner with leaders to keep a pulse on business needs and desires for growing and developing their team members.
- Facilitate and/or participate in team member trainings (leadership development, talent planning, etc.) based on the needs of the business you support. Partner as appropriate to help design content.
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning initiatives and performance management.
- Utilize a blend of strategic vision and practical execution to implement new programs as it pertains to POET’s strategic initiatives. Directly manage and lead various People & Culture projects.
- Guide leaders through organizational change, build organizational capability, and drive a high-performance culture.
- Provide coaching/counsel to managers on a variety of topics including organizational design, workforce planning, performance development, general policies and related People & Culture topics.
- Collaborate with various levels of leadership to understand business goals and develop people strategies aligned with their organizational objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on team member relations issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Analyze and interpret reports and metrics to guide decision making and proactively identify trends and areas of improvement.
Compensation Center of Excellence
- Understand external market compensation and POET’s internal compensation philosophy to provide data-driven guidance to leaders relating to compensation.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement competitive compensation strategies that attract, retain and motivate talent.
- Conduct regular compensation benchmarking and market research to ensure the organization’s pay practices remain competitive in the market.
- Partner with HR Operations on the administration of compensation programs, including incentive plans, bonuses, merit cycle and equity reviews.
- Collect, compile, evaluate and analyze compensation data from various sources to assist in the development of compensation programs.
- Manage job architecture and compensation framework; evaluating company structures and positions to ensure compliance and organizational development consistency.
- Analyze compensation data to identify trends and make recommendation for adjustments as needed.
- Recommend process improvements and innovative practices in compensation procedures.
- Own and manage POET compensation benchmarking software. Serve as the subject matter expert by training other team members.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
- Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in the area of Human Resources Management or Business related program.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification desired.
- Compensation related certification (SHRM-CP or other) and experience using compensation benchmarking surveys and systems desired.
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience is required with applicable experience in employee relations, compensation, talent development, performance management, etc.
- Preferably in a 24/7/365 operations and/or a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand organizational objectives and align people strategies accordingly.
- Proven experience as a strategic HR business partner with the ability to guide, advise and influence all levels of leadership.
- Ability to establish trusted and collaborative relationships with leaders across the organization, understanding their priorities and strategies to better serve the business and help guide P&C strategy.
- Exposure or experience with project management and program design with the ability to lead and execute a project from start to finish.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills to support the business.
- Critical thinker with initiative in researching, gathering, and analyzing data for various projects.
- Ability to independently make decisions and/or recommendations to resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and drive change through a variety of methods.
- Lead by example in upholding the highest level of integrity, honesty, ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality in the organization.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Travel, with some overnight stays, is required. It averages 10-20% of your time and is typically flexible scheduling.
